TANJUNG, RB – Pemerintah Kabupaten Tabalong berhasil mengurangi sampah plastik hingga 10 ribu ton pada 2023, hal ini berkat upaya Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Tabalong dalam memperluas cakupan layanan angkutan sampah dan pengelolaan sampah melalui Tempat Pembuangan Sampah 3R (TPS 3R).
Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Tabalong berhasil mengurangi sampah plastik di Tabalong hingga 10 ribu ton melalui pemanfaatan dan daur ulang sampah dari total timbunan sampah sebanyak 38 ribu ton pada 2023. Upaya pengurangan sampah ini mencapai 27 persen, melebihi target tahun 2023 sebesar 20 persen, pengurangan sampah ini juga meningkat dibandingkan tahun 2022 yang hanya sebanyak 4 ribu ton.
Kepala Bidang Pengelolaan Sampah dan Limbah B3 DLH Tabalong, Muhammad Ramadani yang dijumpai pada Rabu, 17 Januari 2024, di kantor DLH Tabalong, mengatakan bahwa peningkatan pengelolaan sampah ini tidak lepas dari adanya perluasan layanan angkutan sampah. Dari sebelumnya hanya lima kecamatan kini mencakup 12 kecamatan yang terdiri atas 91 desa dan 10 kelurahan.
“Hal ini didukung dengan partisipasi desa yang membentuk lembaga pengelolaan sampah maupun Bumdes pengelolaan sampah sehingga sampah yang dulunya mungkin terbuang di lingkungan, terbuang ke sungai, itu terangkut secara regular ke Tempat Pembuangan Akhir (TPA),” ujar M. Ramadani, Kabid Pengelolaan Sampah & Limbah 3R.
Sementara itu, Kepala DLH Tabalong, Slamet Riyadi menuturkan bahwa pengelolaan sampah menjadi tanggung jawab seluruh masyarakat Tabalong, oleh karena itu ia berharap peran aktif masyarakat dalam pemilahan sampah sebelum membuangnya ke tempat sampah yang tersedia atau ke TPS terdekat.
“Pengelolaan sampah ini memang tidak bisa dilakukan dari pemerintah saja kami harapkan dari masyarakat Tabalong untuk sama-sama mengelola sampah, ya mungkin lebih baik sampah dipilah dari rumah dulu kemudian ditumpuk atau ditaruh di tempat yang sudah disediakan,” ujar Slamet Riyadi, Kepala DLH Tabalong.
Slamet menambahkan bahwa untuk mendukung pengurangan sampah kini terdapat 12 unit TPS 3R di Kabupaten Tabalong, di antaranya 2 unit baru dibangun tahun 2023 di Kelurahan Pulau dan Desa Telaga Itar, Kecamatan Kelua.
Diketahui, pada tahun 2023 lalu sampah yang masuk ke TPA Bongkang rata-rata mencapai 100 ton per hari, meningkat dibandingkan tahun 2022 dengan rata-rata 70 hingga 80 ton per hari. (MC Tabalong)
